Definitions
Participant: An individual seeking guidance from The Human Board.
Board Member: A person serving on The Human Board, providing mentoring and guidance.
Chair: The person who convenes and guides the flow of each session.
Associated Party: Any third party The Human Board interacts with.
Stakeholder: Anyone affected by The Human Board’s activities.
Service: Any activity delivered by The Human Board.
Scope: The Human Board provides mentorship and guidance, not therapy or professional advice.
GENERAL PRINCIPLE A: Respect for the Rights and Dignity of People and Peoples

We avoid discrimination, bias, or stereotyping and welcome diverse participants.

We treat everyone with dignity, kindness, and active listening.
A3. Informed Participation
We clearly explain what The Human Board is and is not, and ensure voluntary participation.

Participants share only what feels appropriate; we avoid unnecessary personal inquiries.
A5. Confidentiality
Stories shared in sessions remain confidential unless permission is granted.
GENERAL PRINCIPLE B: Professionalism
B1. Competence
Board members speak from lived experience and stay within their areas of knowledge.
B2. Responsibility to Participants
We acknowledge the impact of our words and avoid harmful or directive advice.
B3. Clarity of Role & Scope
We affirm that The Human Board is mentorship, not therapy or crisis support.
B4. Group Dynamics & Boundaries
We maintain balanced participation and healthy boundaries.
B5. Avoiding Harm
We avoid exploitation, overpromising, and invalidating experiences.
B6. Follow-up & Delegation
Follow-up support is offered realistically and respectfully.
GENERAL PRINCIPLE C: Integrity
C1. Honesty & Transparency
We communicate truthfully about our backgrounds and limitations.

Potential conflicts are disclosed and managed appropriately.
C3. Non-Exploitation
We do not solicit clients, paid work, or investments from participants.

Participant stories are never shared publicly without explicit permission.

Application of the Code
